Is it expected for you to name your child something similar to your name like: Christina, Christian, Christa, Chrystal, Kristie???
Just curious!

I don't think it's expected at all. If a guy's name was Michael I wouldn't think his daughters name would be Michelle so I'm not sure why Christoper or Christine would be any different.

In my mom's family all the kids were named after a family member. My mom had an aunt Christine and so my mom was Christina. Her aunt went by Crickie and my mom Tina. My mom and her siblings didn't stay with the trend though and neither did my generation.

I know plenty of people with these names and I've never heard that story before! Sounds like someone's handing you an old wives tale!

My husbands name is Christopher... and no, no one said anything about naming our daughter something similar.

No i don't think so ! That'd just make it all very confusing in the house or when someone rings and says "can i talk to chris" Lol :)

My kid (23) brother is Christopher and as lovely as he is, my baby is going to be Sam after his great Grandad. My brother would in no way expect the baby to be named after him.

exspected?Naw. See its ur baby. its ur choice. ubnless its a religion thing or family and u really want to go with that. But its not really exspected of u.
