If your PC is a just a home desktop computer you can't do it. You will need to have the wbsite hosted on someone's server and use an FTP program to upload it.

Frontpage is simple enough that if you can create a fancy document in Word, you can create a web page. Just a matter deciding how you want to page to look, and typing it in. But the program is also complex and powerful enough that you will need a dozen books to learn it all.

Begin by simply playing around with the program and laying out (or try duplicating the layout of) a couple web pages. Does not take long to get the basics down.

Once have a page, you need to decide how to post it on the Internet. Recommend that you NOT attempt to host it from you own computer. It would require that you keep your computer running 24/7 every day. No reboots, no updates, no power outages, etc. Plus all the traffic coming to your website will use your Internet connection, slowing it to a crawl, and your PC's resources, slowing it to a crawl. You need to host the site somewhere else.

So you would have to find a hosting serve, or use a free site like geocities, angelfire or tripod. Each of those will have an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) option that allows you to copy your Frontpage files up to the Internet were people can view them.

This differs alot relying what corporation and repair you're with. Geocities could now not paintings as good given that they are dossier limits are vital. If feasible, I could add it with FTP if its a purchased internet site or when you host it your self, Copy it to the Server PC with pen force or through community (permit community folder sharing at the server PC) Good good fortune and i am hoping this is helping.

Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And you can use FrontPage to generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

If you have XP Pro (not Home) or Vista Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate, you can install IIS and host the website on your PC. Be aware that you will be limited to only 10 concurrent connections and really need Windows Server 2003 to host properly.

Once you load IIS. Copy your website to C:\inetpub\wwwroot and name the homepage index.htm

You can then access your website on your PC by typing http://localhost into your browser's address bar.

To access the site from another computer (not on your home lan) you need to enter http:// and then your external IP address. This is usually the IP address of the gateway/router when you type IPCONFIG from the command prompt.

If you want to assign a host name to the site, you will need to look at dynamic DNS if you are not on a static IP address.

Hi, To start, I think the best thing that you could do would be to buy the "M/S FrontPage2003" step by step manual, if you have not already got it.

Good luck with your website. FrontPage is excellent..

If your PC is the server then you do have to upload it. You PC is the CLIENT not the SERVER.

I think what you mean is 'how do I upload a webpage to a server'.

Get an FTP program.
