This computer has been a complete piece of junk. I do not know if it is vista or the compuer. It will not boot up so I think it is software. What I want to know is there another operating system I can load on it instead of Vista for cheap. I want to try and just wipe it clean and load up from the start. I do not want to spend much more $ on it. I just got it about 5 monts ago for $800 so it was a cheap lab top from the start.

I think that its your laptop.
For 800 bucks it probably has a weak RAM and Memory, which is why it could crash, get stuck or stuff like that. Try to find a friend who has xp and install it. If it's still the same take it back to the store you got it and ask them to fix it for you.

Did it come with Vista pre-loaded?

If not, does it have a "Vista-ready" sticker?

If they never claimed it would work with Vista, then you're taking your chances. Even if they said it'd work, if it's not up-to-specs, it may not work very well.

If you want to give up on Vista, you can always go with XP, although you'll have to buy a license.

If you just want cheap, then Linux should do the trick.

Your laptop is NOT the problem.

If your Laptop still under warranty, call the vendor. You may have a corrupted copy of Vista.

If not, try:

Surely it is still under guarantee. Get it to the local appointed agents for them to fix.
