is it gross and stupid to pierce your nose after 30yrs old? I always liked it but i don't want to look silly, or worst outdated. I guess I want todo it as a sign of 'I don't give a damn' atttitude towards all the people around me that are starting to look like mums and dads, or worse, their own mums and dads. (I don't have anything against being a mum, no. I just don't like that bland conservative mindset and the wardrobe that matches it).

I had my nose peirced when I was around 26. I think if it is tastefully done there is nothing wrong with it. I had a very tiny stud on my upper nostril. I work in a semi-casual setting and my supervisor whom is a fair tad older then me and much more conservative really liked it. I probably would not recommend it if you work in a formal buisness.
It does come with a bit of looking after though. You need to clean it regularly. You WILL get boogers caught in it which you will have to clean out manually.
A word of caution though - if you do proceed, have it done professionally at a place that specializes in peircing. Pay the extra money to have it done right to avoid infection. The proper method is for them to clear a small tube through the area then insert it. Seriously - dont just go to any old tatoo place etc. Do some research to what is available in your area. If there is nothing really professional - do it next time you go someplace there is.

Depends. My niece has a very nice one. It's on the outside of her nostril, and she puts a small, very tasteful stud in it. Something flat that accents her face instead of detracting from it. I absolutely can't stand anything big hanging off the nose, especially those from the middle cartilage like a bull ring. Anything other than the smallest, most tasteful stud on the nostril is going to hurt you down the line when you want a good paying, responsible job -- and when you want to look elegant in your wedding pictures.

If you really had a "don't give a damn" attitude you wouldn't be asking us about it. Apparently you do give a damn because you're looking for approval on Y!A. For that reason I would say don't do it unless you really don't give a damn.
Whether certain items of appearance--even silly items--look good depends entirely on the person who is wearing them. If you're sexy in one thing you're probably sexy in just about anything. If you really do have a "don't give a damn" attitude then you "sell" everything about yourself in such a way that a nose ring wouldn't phase anyone. However, if you're wimpy about it then it will just stink of desperation.
Whatever you do, do it with confidence.

nose piercing is an antique tradition diffused among Indian and Nepalese women and few African clans. Later it was adopted on as a fashion. Actually I don't see why people shouldn't be piercing on the nose. If they find it disgusting, let them be. Personally I find it cool, if you really want to have a piercing.. go get it woman!

I'm 29 and just got my nose pierced and I love it!! I have a very small 'diamond' it's very tasteful. Go for it!!

hmm.. it depends on the person you're addressing the question to..but for me, it's just fine.. The important thing there is that...you're happy, you're comfortable with it and you're not hurting people with it.. Don't listen too much with other people's opinion (they won't be wearing it anyway...it will be you)... But, yeah.. Just keep your spirits up and i know everything will be well...

Don't do it. Only go with ones on your body you can hide. I got my eyebrow down a while back and I regret it now because of the scar.

you dont need to pierce anything to prove yourself. if you had such a mindset you say you do, you wouldnt WANT to prove yourself to anyone.
