Some say Bush is. I think it was Grant. Maybe William Henry Harrison. What do you all think?

Carter was the worst, at least in my lifetime. You can blame a lot of today's problems on him and his lousy presidency. He weakened our country and set the stage for more terrorism with his appeasement attitude. Thank the good Lord he only served 1 term.
People place far too much emphasis on poll numbers. Lincoln was a great president and he was hated by a large portion of the country.

We have a fine selction of incompetents as our nominees. I would choose a select group and then narrow in on the amount of damage they did.
The group would include George W. Bush, Lyndon Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Herbert Hover, Franklin Pierce,
James Buchanan, Woodrow Wilson, Dwight Eisenhower,
and several others.

I would judge Bush to the be the worst for having done so much damage for so little reason, and Johnson for having thrown away so much potential good for so little reason.
SAs representatives of statism on the one hand and socialism on the other, the two can hardly be bettered as bad examples.

I was going to say Harrison. He didn't accomplish a darn thing while he was in office. I put the country in a Constitutional crisis by dying so inconveniently. It may be a good thing he only served for 31 days (and most of the time he just laid around in bed anyway).

Jimmy Carter, hands down. We are still dealing with the high prices on everything that started during his presidency. His pathetic leadership and failure to get the troops during the Iran Hostage Crisis embarrassed the US. Reagan improved the nation a little financially, and Clinton even more, but Bush has brought the country downhill when it comes to finance and the budget.

Overall, most historians pick Harding. His adminstration was the most scandal ridden proportionally, considering he was only in office for 27 months. In fact, he even explicitly admitted that he was not fit for office.

Although its a GOP talking point to trash carter now that he is politically controversial, BUSH43 hands down is and always will be (hopefully for our kids sake) the worst president ever.
