I have a really REALLY hard time reverse parking...any tips?

I find it a lot easier to parallel park than to reverse park, I just can't seem to get into the lanes! And I'm getting my license in a couple of weeks, does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

It really helps to adjust your outside mirrors so you can plainly see the lane markings you're backing into. If you can see the left lane marker allow at least two feet and back right straight in. Use your rear view mirror to judge where the car behind you is and stop when you can no longer see the grille of the car behind.

Practice in a shopping center parking lot with no cars around you. The sooner you become use to using your mirrors you'll be a better reverse driver. Practice practice, you'll do fine.

Well, this may sound stupid but do you use your mirrors? So many people don't use their mirrors, they think they are just there for changing lanes! I was fortunate enough to have a driving instructor who taught us how to parallel park with the mirrors then without. I actually helped my mom by telling her to do this when she bought her monster expedition! Instead of just looking for the lanes and missing, back toward them until you see them in your side mirror or mirrors then just back right in! Of course watching behind you !!! Good Luck!!

I also have a hard time parking in reverse- I am lousy at it. And, I have been driving for 13 years.

I would recommend practicing it. Good luck!

It's not hard, just remember to go slow, and turn your head and look where you are going. Don't back using your mirrors. That works for experienced drivers, but newer drivers have difficulty adjusting their car when using the mirrors.
