Will anyone ask them, how many jobs will be lost when a nationalized heathcare system is put in place? Wouldn't government run healthcare put health insurance companies out of business?

Those who are for NH don't care about the how. They don't want to hear about the severe ramifications! They don't care about those that they will hurt.

What Pythagoras proposes is likely accurate. What he doesn't see is the danger . . . like many. NH could be the first step toward creating the nationalization of the laborer.

If the government gains this power, it is then only a matter of time before they usurp some other industry making more national workers . . . then again, and again. Until all of us are working for "our collective good" for the government who retains all power and control over our lives.

This road can lead to the absence of all that our nation stands for: life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

My sense is that they would say the following:

1. Many people who lose their jobs in the health insurance sector would be picked up when the government needs people to nationalize the government health care system.

2. Using your argument, we never should have invented cars because that put a lot of people in the carriage and horse industries out of business.

I don't think any politician cares one wit about jobs OR for that matter nationalized healthcare.
The only thing that appears to patter to any of them, left, center or right is the next election, and their respective legacies. Note the response from Pelosi after being informed of her and congress' poor ratings by the American constituency.

It wouldnt have to......they could also create some type of national health insurance that is offered to people at a subsidized rate...then allow the insurance companies to compete for the contracts based on who could give the most service for the lowest price......a side effect would be that my employer could pay a lower rate for employee health insurance...increasing profits....creating more jobs

Ok, lose jobs or protect children. No contest. If it even comes down to that.
