Frank Thomas's 500 HRs or Craig Biggio's 3000 hits.

They're both awesome achievements. More people have accomplished 3,000 hits than 500 HRs, so I would give the home runs the nod. Also, Frank Thomas is a career .303 hitter, to Biggio's .282 career mark. Biggio was a consistently good player who never got injured. Thomas was one of the 5 most feared hitters through the '90s until injuries and age started getting the best of him. Biggio also has played two more years to reach his milestone. I think Biggio's record is based more on longevity than excellence. Biggio only hit .300 three times in his career while Thomas did it ten times.

Consider this...if averages kept up (I know Thomas' numbers are definitely falling off, but just work with me)...if Thomas had as many at bats as Biggio, he would have 3,227 hits and 695 home runs!

It doesn't matter whose names are behind those two milestones, both are great accomplishments.
But, at the beginning of their careers, I would have said Craig Biggio would have a harder time getting to 3000-hits than Thomas reaching 500-homers.
Therefore, I'll go with Biggio.

Biggio was the 27th player to reach 3,000 hits and Thomas the the 21st player to reach 500 homeruns. Both are a great testament to the career of a MLB player and it would be impossible to favor one accomplishment over the other.

To me, it's Biggio's 3,000th hit. Homeruns are considered so awesome, that everyone just kinda forgets about a little basehit can get a rally going, or even knock in a run.

Plus, the fact Thomas hit a lot in the Steroid-Era, take away from his milestone.

3000 hits = 20 150 hit seasons.
500 HR = 20 25 HR seasons.

Either way, they're both amazing milestones.

I'd lean slightly toward Biggio's milestone, but really, it's like comparing a van Gogh to a Rembrandt. Preference between masterpieces is a highly personal and subjective thing.
