I live in a very nice neighborhood and no I don't lock my doors but my friends are always getting after me for it.

Years ago we used to leave the front door key on a bit of string which could be pulled from the letter box. But then we had nothing valuable to be stolen. Today even the poorest of us have something worth stealing. In spite of living in a nice area I have taken to locking my doors and am no longer using the string.

I live in the center of town. Lots of very strange people here. You have to have codes to the doors an elevator key and a door key to even reach the floor I live on. And yes I still lock MY door. :)

Yes, I lock my doors. I live in a great community but no reason to invite trouble in.
Growing up in So. Ca. we slept with the doors open in the summer.

Lock the front door, back door is usually open. Small city in western Colorado.

I don't have to lock mine, I even forget the garage door open, when I drink too much,

I lock my car doors when it's in the driveway *and* when I'm in it, I lock all of my doors in the house and the windows, I hide my purse, sleep with my keys under my pillow, and have memorized my social security number, credit card, debit card, account and drivers license numbers....and I live in the suburbs.
