Hey DJC, do you have any football knowledge whatsoever? How can a team not rule after making a Super Bowl appearance?
There is still a chance Briggs could play 6-8 games for us this year, and even if he doesn't, we still get Tommie Harris and Mike Brown back from injury. Two good, PRO BOWL players. Our defense without Briggs is still number 1 and everyone including the NFL experts knows it.
Add on our rock-solid special teams, we have to be the top team in the NFC, no doubt. Because our lack of offense is way less than the Saints lack of defense. Rex is going to be better and more consistent now with more experience and an extra off-season of coaching so we will see more of his stellar games with stellar QB ratings. And losing Thomas Jones means nothing because not only is Benson ready to take over the load, now Adrian Peterson will get more carries and he is the best playmaker on the Bears offense (maybe behind Bernard Berrian).
I would bet my life on a repeat as NFC Champs.

So to answer your question, the Bears rule because we have the best defense, the best special teams, and a ticket to the Super Bowl before the season has even started.

Da bears do not rule, they simply scratch by. they almost were beat by ARI i mean come on... they play down to their competition which leaves them in a bad groove when they start to play better teams. Look at the Superbowl, they weren't out matched they simply hadn't faced good enough opponents (other than the saints) so they weren't ready. I will say they are a great team but they have many flaws. And on top of that to RULE one must be the KING and and right now that's the colts, with the bears sitting on the sideline playing prince.

The Bears rule because they play in the otherwise worst division in the NFL. The Vikings, Packers, and Lions are a bunch of bumbling fools.

On top of that, the Bears have built the best defense, hands down, in the NFL. Even injured, they have a top five defense.

And they are willing to take risks in the draft. Everyone panned Devin Hester's selection in the second round, until he kept running to the end zone.

That's why the Bears Rule!

You've got to be kidding me about the best defense line. You play in the crap a$$ NFC. You play the Viks and Packers 4 times. If that isn't padding your defensive stats I don't know what is. Bears are good, that is about it. The teams that "rule" all reside in the AFC. Bears fans need to shut up about how great they are because everyone, even the analysts know, they aren't winning a super bowl any time soon.

P.S. A good special teamer doesn't mean you have the best special teams play. Devin Hester isn't jesus, he can field kicks like a monster i'll give him that but he can't play WR, you will come to learn this soon.

They don't. What would make you think that? When was the last time they won a Super Bowl? Is their number one media attention for good or bad? And, honestly, what is wrong with their quarterback? These are things you might want to think of before asking such a vague and one-sided question. And not to mention, even if they were good, they won't be since Lance Briggs is gone (Didn't think of that, did you?). Needless to say, the Bears suck and their rivals in Wisconsin are going to become a contender and have a turnaround now that they have a pro-bowl wide receiver, a dominant second-year wide-out, a fast and powerful runningback, and an improved offensive line that is competent of an NFL status. And so, I think you should mouse over the pencil sign and click "Edit Question" to insert "n't" after the word "do" as that would make the question more realistic.

I'm not a huge fan of the NFL... however, while I was in Kenya with the Peace Corps during the last Super Bowl, I saw why the Bears rule. We had volunteers that dressed up in full Bears garb, stood on tables, sang, chanted, waved towels above their heads throughout the entire Super Bowl in to the wee hours of the morning (remember, Kenya time). This was one of the top five sporting events I have ever seen on television because of this.

They rule in the NFC because it is such a weak conference compared to the AFC. The Bears would ranked fifth in the AFC after the Patriots, Colts, Ravens and Chargers. Now if they can stabilize their quarterback situation then they will rise to the top. One has to go back to McMann to find a quarterback that could get the job done and he had Walter in the backfield. So they don't rule just yet.

The Bears did well last year because they had the weakest schedule in the entire NFL. This year the schedule is much harder and they will not do nearly as well. Rex Grossman didn't take the Bears to the superbowl, but the Bears took Rex Grossman to the superbowl.
