That would be fun, but what if you forget the gummy bears in your pocket and you wash your pants, there would be no more happy feeling about finding money in the laundry.

That is certianly a literal way to 'eat your profits'. While the idea is clever, you'd have to make it idiot-proof. This would be hard to do if an edible item held financial value.
