If you are meaning in general, why do they ask stupid questions, you might want to consider that they might actually NOT know what they are asking about. They could think that you are somebody who would have an answer to their question. Take it as a compliment.
If you meant on Yahoo Answers, I would venture to guess that they are trying to get more points fast. Ignore them.

Because dimwits never have anything better to do with their sucky lives,but posting insulting,racist,intolerant,generalistic,and mindless questions.

more often than not because they are bored, one guy got on here while at work and admitted that he was asking some really stupid questions because he was bored out of his mind at work.
