I mean it seems to me it is getting ridiculous allowing old men who are half senile to be making critical decisions for this country. I think we need to throw all of them out and have an age limit also. I am a senior citizen and i have enough wisdom to know that younger people have sharper minds.

There should be limits to everything. If someone is particularly good at something, they should train someone to succeed them and carry on the desired work or what ever it is, not leave the dependents hanging out to dry.

I am a senior citizen too, and I resent the implication that my mind is not as sharp as someone younger. Yours may not be, but mine IS!! Term limits would make legislators "lame ducks" for their last term and would or could raise havoc with the "favors" done for and by them. We have enough "pork barrel" now!! Cut that out and leave the legislators alone. Further, you are insulting the electorate who put these people in office. They are capable of making the decision as to whether or not to reelect a lawmaker.

Chow!!

well (comming from a younger person)(like 14) i think that it is the people who vote the congressmen in, so if people really don't want them in congress, then just don't vote for them! but i mean, if you are 80, and you act like a 40 yr old, then go ahead, join congress! but if you are 50, and have altimerzs {sp?} then go to an old folks home. i think it all depends on your mental capacity. and becides, if you are older and in congress, and lets say, you were there in WWII, and you rember how it was taken care of like it was yesterday, then you would know how to take care of the problem. where as younger persons would not.

phew! that was a mouthful!

Absolutely not! For two (2) reasons: The more controls we place on the democracy, the more rights we forfeit to government. Remember, the number one threat to our freedom is government. Second, in so many instances, just about the time our Congressmen finally figure out what they are doing, term limits would send them home and the amateurs would arrive in Washington. Please keep in mind, that circumstances in Washington today, as bad as they are, should not lead us to change our democracy.

term limits should be mandatory for all political offices along with other changes including automatic salary increases and perks after leaving office. let them live like those whom they represented.
