Short answer, yes. Light is a form of radiation. Compared to CRT monitors, they emit little or no electromagnetism and x-rays, which can be harmful.

A lot less than CRTs

Any electrical item will emit EM radiation. LCD flatpanels are a lot lower than most items, your PC probably emits more then the display.

CRTs and LCDs emit a lot of radiation in the 400 nm to 700 nm wavelengths - visible light.

No because the radiation on a CRT is caused by the extreemely high voltage required by the picture tube usually in the 20,000 volt range 20KV. an LCD monitor does not require a high voltage to be generated to produce an image on the screen so therefore there is minimal to no radiation generated.

Good luck hope this answers your question

A lot more than the regular CRT monitors. Using sites like www.blackle.com instead of google can temporarily reduce the radiation.

yes, almost everything in your house that has an electrical charge emits radiation, but it is in such small amount that you shouldnt be able to decect it.

FYI:
a study conducted showed that laptops may contribute to sterality amounge men, if you were to put he laptop on your lap, although this is very unlikely, they renamed laptops "Notebooks"
