Do we really want anybody who is or has been into drugs making critical decisions for us. Do we really want someone who admits to his drug abuse such as Obama did in his book to have his finger on the nuclear button. How do we know that he did quit doping? We have to take his word are you willing to gamble I mean look what happened to us when we elected George Bush do you want more of the stammering and stuttering and blank lost looks I think not so lets say no to any candidate who has or is using drugs dont you think this would be in the best interest of our country?

He did not. His admitted drug use was no more than what nearly anyone of his generation had done. You sound like one of those lying Democrats setting up a strawman about George Bush. At least use facts if you're going to criticize someone. There's no shortage of those where Obama and Hillary are concerned.

Everyone who was around in the 60s-70s did drugs. At least he admits it. Obama has kids and as much as he's been in the public eye, there's no way he could do drugs without getting caught. I'm sure no one thought we'd ever have a former male cheerleader as president.

I think you're asking the wrong questions here anyway. You should elect someone to office based on their views, policies, etc. Dont get caught up in the superficial stuff. Now, THATS what would be in the best interest of our country.

A person who has overcome things in the PAST may be an even better president than you may think .... they have shown the ability to critique what is going on and to create and follow a solution.

So many of the leaders we have had have been spoon fed and bought out of any trouble they have been in .....

As long as he has been clean and off drugs for many years .... I'd say that is not a negative mark to him & may even be a POSITIVE trait.

To me pass drug use is a nonissue with me.
I look at what they stand for today.

No a single person here has something in their past they are not proud of and don't ever what to come to light.

So I just focus in on the issues and how they present them.

I just wish once Obama when ask a question will give a direct answer.

That's not actually true, it is possible that flashbacks can happen for a short period amounting to, at worst several months after the original incident. Also, has it ever come out that he's ever had a bad trip? You won't flashback without one. Besides you don't trip on cocaine really so you couldn't flashback to a cocaine experience.

Aww. look its an Obamahater! You'll see them come out when he does this good. Its sad really. Just another person putting smut because he's afraid of a black president. You probably said the same about Powell, Shaprton, and Jackson..

I'd rather have someone come clean and be honest rather than find out things about them later. Like theyre sexual urges in the white house>? Bill Clinton

He did not indicate heavy drug abuse as you indicated.
He did not lie about experimenting with drugs as many probably did while in college. For his generation, I would be very surprised that many did not try drugs it was the times.
At least Mr. Obama has allot more intelligence the rest of the pack.

I do not approve of anybody doing any sort of illegal drug, with the exception being a medical reason.

That being said, at least he came out and publicly admitted it, and said how much he regrets it. I admire when people do that. Since marijuana does not usually fall under the "heavy drug" category, and Obama said that he had only done cocaine once, and that he hated it.

I have not decided who to vote for yet, but I will not let the fact that a young man who got caught up in this affect my decision whether or not to vote for him, since he regretted it.

Obama did not say he was into heavy drug use. Why lie does he look like a heavy drug user. Does he talk like a heavy drug user. Bush on the other hand has been like he is for years. Life is a gamble stop being so afraid of black people look where our white president has gotten us for the last 20 years NO WHERE.

It is a non-issue. He hasn't done them in years...if you think that drug effects last that long, you have a limited understanding of the effects of drugs....not to mention, good luck at finding anyone in today's society that has never done drugs, especially while in college.
