Hell yes, I look through everything. You can find out quite a bit sometimes by doing a little snooping. I don't steal mind you, I just snoop.

Lol you nut! I don't work in an office, however my husband and I each have our own desks. I will go to his very very seldom, as his is a complete mess, but when I have to get something he has then I do come across stuff I am not looking for just to get to the item I am! So in all honesty, I have to say yes, even if he is not the boss! LOL shhhhh lets leave this between you and I.

Never. I have a great deal of respect for my boss and her privacy. As a matter of fact, I even make a point not to read information (such as employee evaluations) that she gives to me to shred. I feel that I know enough about the other employees I work with, and there are certain things that they are entitled to maintain as private unless they choose to inform me.
I do have keys to her office and all her files, so that I can secure information for her if she's out of the office and needs anything. This also allows me to maintain the security of her office from people who shouldn't be there.

She told you she went through your Director's desk? So much for confidentiality. I wouldn't say anything, unless asked; and even if I were asked, I'd say "I don't know anything about that" because I wouldn't want to be put right in the middle. Leave me out of it.

Well, since I am the boss and have my own office, this question makes me want to install a camera to see who is plundering when I am out. Wow, another thing to worry about.......LOL!
