You get 1.8mbps downstream.
Speed can vary when using different speed tests due to the distance you are from the test server, I suggest getting a few different speed test results from multiple testing sites.

Its looks like you are on a 2MB package and if so your speed results is not too bad.
However if you are supposedly on a faster package you should run the BT speed-tester which will show you your maximum profile speed as set by BT. Allegedly the max speed your line will manage and nothing to do with what you are actually paying for.
The speed you achieve is dependant an the quality of your phone line and your distance by wire from the exchange. The longer your line the slower your speed

In a nutshell, your download speed (downstream) on your broadband modem is coming in as 2meg (2mb or 2000kbps)and you can upload(upstream) at 0.5meg.
A good way of checking your broadband connection speeds is to log on to the following website: http://www.testmy.net/
I use it regularly to check both download and upload but mostly download since that is what most internet users are doing when they go on the Web. It will also give you hints and info about the what the different broadband terms mean and how to understand them.

With my computer, at the bottom ight hand side of the screen is the little logo of two tv sets thats shows when u r online. If you hold your mouse over it, you will should get a box up that will show you what Mpbs it is working at.
Alternatively, when you do the adsl test if you state that you want a DETAILED OUTPUT & / or breakdown of the findings, it should tell you on there, at least it did when I did it...
Some people use this as proof when complaining to providers
Sorry cant help you if yours is different than that!!
Good Luck regardless

I guess you signed up for a certain Broadband package that told you about speeds up to X mbs.
The chances of you actually achieving these speeds is fairly remote. There are a lot factors such as Internet traffic and server bandwith that mean you have to put up with much lower speeds.

Yeah, these results are totally consistent with a 2MB line. You are never going to hit 2048 kbps down or 512 up.
These results aren't bad for what you're paying...assuming you're paying for 2Meg and not 10.
