Yes,and it was hard, both my DOBIES had developed cancer. The first lived with the tumor to a ripe old age,vet said not to operate, the second was not so lucky,it was horrible.. It is the same loss as a human family member. The only thing I could do was to put her out of her misery. My German Shep had developed hip displacia, and could no longer walk,go outdoors,or anything, she was 13 years old,Vet said she had to be put down.

Yes, I have. She was 14, almost 15 and was in kidney failure, blind, deaf and I think a little senile. It was a hard decision and I probably let her go too long, but when I did decide, I made an appointment at the vet and held her while he ended her life. I had read at great article one time that talked about staying with your dog and holding him while having them euthanized. The article stressed the importance of being there for your pet to keep them from feeling scared and alone. Even though she was deaf and blind, I held her close and talked to her. I'm sure she felt the vibrations of my voice, smelled my familiar smell and was close to me and felt my touch while she passed away in my arms. I cried for days, but I know she passed away feeling safe and secure. It was so difficult, but I would do it again if I had to. I think it's the best thing to do.

I lost my dobe Dancer almost 2 years ago at 9 yrs of CHF after a battle of heart failure the emergency Vet suggested I put him down I refused and we treated him with lasix IV's and heart dilators and alpha bockers. It was costly but I don't regret it he lived 7 months longer I got my newest Sasha, He kinda showed the pup the ropes and he had some of his happiest days during this time. I had a long time to say good bye and new it was coming he had another bout of CHF and we IV'D him once more the Vet had felt he would responded again then a third attack him him only 3 days later and I knew it was time to put him down. He was simply a great great dog

I have, yes. She was 15 yrs old and she couldn't even walk. I would rather her be in a better place than in pain. I also had another dog, and he was 12 yrs. He had some kind of skin cancer and he had to be put down. It's never an easy choice, but I would never want my babies to be in pain if there's no way to make them feel better. Take care.

Yeah our dalmatian was put to sleep. She couldn't even stand up out of her bed to poo so it was definitely time to let her go. Not a happy existence to not be able to go on walkies anymore or relieve yourself.
I'm so glad we have her daughter though, otherwise I don't think I'd have got through it!!

not,
i am sorry to hear that, i know your feeling when your pet suffer pain, it's your baby, but if you want her to alleviate pain, maybe euthanasia is better choice.

I'm about to put my one cat to sleep. He's old and starting to piss around the house. I've been keeping him outside but I don't know what to do when winter comes.
