Chilla not the biological daddy of the Royal Spare? It would be the news my cold, republican heart has been waiting to hear, but sorry, folks, it ain't so. First, you can discount anything Hewitt has to say on the matter, but you don't even have to go to that much trouble. As a member of the court - the Royal Court, that is, the daily whereabouts of Diana, Princess of Wales were recorded in minute and meticulous detail. The records are public and can be examined by anyone who wants to see them (and they're published in The Times, anyway). The records are perfectly clear on this matter: Princess Diana first met (then) Major James Hewitt in the summer of 1986. As an officer in the Life Guards - the Royal bodyguards, so to speak - Hewitt's movements are pretty much a matter of record, too, and any claim that he met Diana earlier than the official record states can be regarded as fiction. Prince Harry was born on 15th September 1984. So, the theory that Harry is Hewitt's sprog, unfortunately, does not hold water.

We can dispose of the Carling conspiracy with similar ease. Diana didn't meet him until after her separation from Chazza. By that time she was the most watched and photographed woman in the world and every move she made was in the papers almost before she'd made it. The story of her and Carling was headline news and destroyed his marriage, and there is little reason to doubt the timing of their affair.

There are other facts which militate against it. First, that scumbag Hewitt would sell his own mother's arthritis pills. He is already trying to flog Diana's love letters to him, despite the fact that they are copyright to her estate and cannot be published (though because of a quirk in the law the physical artefacts belong to him). Do you think that he wouldn't go for a story like that in a frenzy of tabloid cheque-cashing? What would stop him? The fact that his story could be shot to bits in a minute, that's what.

Second, could Harry have really gone through Eton, where sports are a compulsory part of the curriculum, and Sandhurst military college (not noted for the delicacy of it's physical activities) without one person somewhere, somehow, getting a sample of his DNA? It's not that hard to get hold of - a discarded bandaid, a hairbrush left in the bathroom, a sweaty facecloth, saliva or - ahem - any other bodily waste would do it. Do you think I am the first person to think of it? It would be the work of a moment to check the DNA against the Royal bloodline - Prince Phillip's DNA fingerprint is on record, as he gave a sample in order to help identify the remains of the Russian Royal family. Nobody has done it, which in this case means it cannot be done.

So, sorry, conspiracy theorists but both fact and logic argue against you. It would be a great story and would cause utter devastation in the Royal Family (being illegitimate would prevent Harry's ascending to the throne, altering the succession, etc etc etc) and the scandal would be a wonder to behold, but it ain't going to happen.

Pity.

What difference does it make? Leave the poor boy alone! He looks like people on Diana's side of the family. Nobody will ever know unless he takes a DNA test. And that will never happen. So get over it and get on with your life!

When he was walking with his brother and his uncle, Diana's brother in the funeral procession....he looked very like her brother. There is a family resemblance.
My oldest daughter looks like my side of the family. The youngest looks like a combination of both my husband and myself. It is the luck of the heredity draw. People may be correct, he may not be Charles son, but then again he could be and just take after her side of the family! A child does not have to resemble both parents. It happens that way sometimes!

According to most documentation and news reports Diana did not even meet James Hewitt till Harry was a toddler.

Personally I think he looks very much like Prince Charles - especially the eyes and mouth. I see more of Diana in William.

Major James " King Dong " Hewitt .. is Harrys Dad... thats why he wants to drive a tank - just like Daddy did.. seemingly thats where Diana first bonked Hewitt - he was giving her riding lessons in a tank. ( Some say that - Will Carling has an outside chance of being the Daddy )

He is his son! Look at some younger pictures of Prince Philip, he favors his Grandfather!

He is the son of those who brought him up. How would you like it if something similar was being said about one of your children.
As for the tank remarks, I'm surprised that no-one says he likes crisps so Gary Linaker could be his father or that he has red hair so Rick Hucknall is the father.
