It does depend on the church. Our pastor came out of the closet after being our pastor for many years, the congregation was shocked! I was one of the few who defended him. It is my feeling that God works in mysterious ways. This was and is a caring loving man and he has made some great movies. One of which was "The Deceiver" about Reverend Jim Jones. Our ex pastor now preaches in a church in L A.
So, most congregations can't handle it and will try to change you. If you keep in on the down low, you shouldn't have too many problems. If you do, change churches. Blessings hun.

Church is where you go to worship....So a church can be a brick and mortar building, a grove a trees, or the riverbank...just a place where you go and worship, pray, believe in a faith....If you wish to go to a place where others congregate and worship you should be more than welcome. Your sexuality has nothing to do with your beliefs. If you wish to discuss your beliefs and the relationship between that and of your sexuality that is up to you. But you do not have to discuss it with them if you do not feel like you need to. It is not thier business whether you are straight or gay...it is only thier business that they help you worship god in a place that is safe to do so. They should not judge you for being whom you are, and a church that will judge you and condemn you from attending a place of religious worship is going against the book that they so preach for.
God Bless

If you're Catholic, they don't want anything to do with you. Not too hypocritical for an all accepting God, huh? However, there are many non-denominational churches that have a much better sense of real life and the modern world who would gladly accept you and all people.

You could try a Metropolitan Community Church, Universal Unitarian (both Christian based) or Dignity (which is Catholic). Both are welcoming to all types of people with no regard for orientation.

who you are is one thing, what you do is another. God does not hate the person, only the actions of the person. You can be gay, you can desire, only when that desire turns to actions do you cross the line. God loves you, but he will not make exceptions. The first commandment God gave man, was to be fruitful and multiply, sex to sex man or woman, that is not possible.

It depends on the church.
Some churches believe that being gay is 'sinful' and 'against god'. Fortunately, most are more sensible.

Churches are hospitals for the sinners, not homes for saints.
You should fit in very well.
