They can be. The sun signs are a general personality trait only. Have you noticed that for every person there is a separate and distinct personality? That is because there are moon and planetary signs as well that influence people.
That is why it is good never to dismiss someone based on an astrological sign. Find out who they are and if you like them and understand that the majority of people a virgo will probably not be Leo. There may be a planetary sign that makes them very compatible.

My husband is a leo and I am a virgo and we have been married for 6 years. We love each other to pieces. We have Good birth charts. My hubby leo sun,mercury,saturn,venus. Jupiter in Taurus, Moon & Mars in virgo Capricorn rising My chart Virgo sun, venus,and saturn. Mercury & Jupiter in Leo. Moon in scorpio. Libra Rising Our love grows daily. from my own personal experience, a leo and a virgo do NOT get along. It's real work to have a relationship. One is a fire sign and the other a water-you do the math.

I've never dated a Virgo but I had a virgo best friend....Believe me when I tell you....It might be good at first but a Leo/Virgo does not mix.....JUST MY EXPERIENCE...TRUST YOUR JUDGEMENT.
