hi there, I was wondering whether anyone has any experience or knowledge about any age limit for fertility drugs?? I have been diagnosed with severe pcos 5 years ago, and have just seen a specialist doctor in Germany. She suggested that I would start trying for a baby (with fertility drugs) within the next couple of years for our best chance of conceving. I have tried to talk to my GP here in the UK, but he laughed and said that I was too young to have and care for a child. I am 23 in a 5 year relationship, stable job, mortgage and a loving partner. Can he really have any control over when I would like to try for a child??? any suggestions would be great. thanks

Your Dr. should not and can not tell you when you are ready to have a child and if you have been trying unsuccessfully it his job to help you. If he refuses you can report him and then you should find another Dr. if at all possible. Try sitting down with your Dr. and explaining to him that you and your partner are in a seriously relationship, have thought long and hard about this and feel you are ready to be parents. You are paying him to treat you, not lecture you on your life choices.

Good luck!

I am only 21, married for two years, and I am on fertility drugs. I hope that helps you. I would find another doctor. You can also get them online if that is not heavily regulated in your country, but I would be extremely careful with that. I live in the US, so it wasn't really an option for us.

EDIT: Oh, and I also have severe PCOS. I am currently only taking Metformin 500mg three times a day. And I am soon to start Clomid again!

I am only 24 years old. I have been married for 3 years. I saw a fertility specialist when I was 23. I told her that I knew that I had PCOS since I was 15. She took me seriously and I have been doing fertility treatments ever since. I have even switched doctors and nobody has ever said that I was too young. If any thing, they have said that they feel bad for me that I am so young with these issues. I would try to find another doctor if I were you.

I'm 20 and i am on fertility drugs (clomid). my doctor turned round 2 me and said you have another 20 years of trying for a baby, i said i have been trying for 2 years so i told her i wanted help. so in the end she made me an appointment for the fertility clinic at my local hospital and I'm now on clomid. if you really want a baby let your doctor know that and good luck

I think ur not too young if u want to have a child. The doctor should be helping u do what u want to do as long as its safe, not his own personal preferences. And, yes he can control when u conceive if he doesn't give u medication to boost ur ovulation, that is if u need it. I suggest u c another GP, one which u r more comfortable with and who would be more understanding. Anyway 23 is not too young for fertility medication IF u need them and I guess u do, I mean u were so young when u had POCS, if u hade the problem, then u will need the cure!!

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/iUaTv
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

When you can't get pregnant, and things look good from the outside, it can be extremely frustrating.
The first thing to consider is how long have you been trying. About 80% of couples will get pregnant after six months of trying, and about 90% will be pregnant after 12 months of trying to get pregnant. Anyway this is a great methid to get pregnant fast https://tr.im/171f0
