WE don't treat them worse, just that we tend to take things for granted.

For the most part, yes. Love is all about comfort and at some point we feel comfortable enough to be are selves. This means we say what we honestly think and feel, our wants and needs. We stop we walking on eggshells and start being real. That doesn't give anyone the right to disrespect their partner, but over time all relationships change. Holding your tongue as to not start an argument becomes a lot less important than letting that person know that you think they are WRONG;)

I think sometimes we fear total dependency on someone we love, and a way of not letting that happen is pulling back in the relationship, or treating the person we should love the most with dis-respect..sad!
It is happening to a friend right now, the guy can be a dream, but when he finally said he loved her, and wanted to commit to her, he started belittling everything she did!
He was afraid that now that her bared his soul that she would up and leave him..

No but, love can treat you worse and worse the more you love someone. I'm for equality. I treat a person worse and worse, if that person treats me worse and worse.

no because the guys i love/like arent interested in me...but if i was able to get together w/the one i loved then i would treat him as my prince (king sounds too old so i prefer to call him my prince)
they do say you hurt the ones you love the most. i think that mostly refers to family. that might be the case for my family but romantic love is a different story like i said.

No. But sometimes it may happen that with the person you love you may take many things granted, which might look as if you treating them worse and worse...... But the fundamental reason is that you love that person and you have no pretense with that person and u can be straight with that person...........
