when the rats are eating the bad guys money...was there a specific reason he couldn't buy a safe and keep the money in there out of reach of the rats?

Yes, but it wouldn't have made for good scripting. He could have just put a couple of cats in there, too...

haha LOL yeah he could but shows two things:
1) he has too much money to store in safes
