I had an abortion 2 years ago,and although i was upset at the time, it wasnt about the fact that i thought i might have been destroying a life, it was the fact that it was what people might think of me if they knew. I do sometimes think about what might have been but i know i made th right choice, and there was never any question of me keeping it, i have never felt guild or regret about what i did, but i sometimes feel guilt about not feeling guilt and also about the fact i didnt tell the dad. Am i inhuman for not really being bothered by this?

I know its a supportive place here but i would challenge the fact that there was never any question of you keeping it. Most people have some thoughts around this. It might be that you have supressed these feelings because of the enormity of your decision (which would be human).

In spite of the fact that you are getting on OK it might be as wise to have a word with some counselling service, you never know when things can emerge, like when you have your first child etc and it might be better to make sure things are ok now rather than later.

In plain answer to your question you are not inhuman, we all take things in different ways and i hope in the long run you get on ok.

You are NOT inhuman!

I'm fine with abortions. and it was your choice not to tell the father.

You may need to talk to someone if this is bothering you after two years. You're only human, and guilt (of any sort) is a big part of being human. The fact you do feel guilty (even if it's not quite for the usual reason) shows that you care.

I don't know you, but I know that you have a heart. You obviously care or you wouldn't be asking us.

Good luck for the future, I hope you sort this out :-)

No one is perfect and inhuman is a matter of opinion not fact. You are not inhuman because we all have to make choices and yours was a hard one. I'm sure what you did was for the best because you cannot bring a life in to this world if you know you are not ready. You may feel guilty but you have to forgive your self an move on with your life.

i don't agree with abortion but i never judge others who have them and i dont think you should feel guilty. You need to put this behind you once and for all. if you feel you made the right choice then it's time to put to bed the 'guilt for not feeling guilt' and the fact you didn't tell the dad. say goodnight to it and start over. you can't change anything now so no point dwelling on a past that's lost gone, and what may or may not have been. try to look forward and good luck for your future.

First of all: ABORTION IS LEGAL! if it is so inhuman then why is legal?
it is better not to be born then to be unwanted.
If you don't feel guilty, don't try too feel that way.
I had a few friends who did an abortion and never felt guilty.
if you broke up with 'the dad' then don't worry. If the dad is still your partner, then think of your relationship based on this kind of secret.
Relax and live your life happily. You are not a bad person :)

No not at all. You know that you made the right choice and at the end of the day it is your body and your life. The only reason that you feel guilty is because you know that there are people out there who would judge you for what you have done, but you are never going to meet those people so therefore I wouldn't let this eat you up. Sometimes we have to make choices and those choices sometimes involve putting ourselves first.

Well it is your life, it is your body, it is just tissue .....I guess life is just as it is for the animals. No purpose ...no reason . Lends a bit of approval to those see no reason to live.

God has a plan for all he brings into this world ....the world teaches us different.

If we follow our worldly desires we get into trouble, make bad choices and suffer even though the world would have you think otherwise.

There is forgiveness and there is one who put His self on the cross so our mistakes can be lifted off our shoulders ...find him.

Perhaps a bit.

I think you have a problem with self image as you worry more about what others think....This should be insignificant to the fact that you had an abortion.
Go and have some counselling, this may help you to realign your thought process.
