At ancient times, men never knew what a clitoris or a G-spot was. I bet they don't even know a fake orgasm from a real one. So, does this mean that even strong macho men like Achilles, Hercules, Ceasar, Ramses, maybe Hitler (LOL!) were really bad at sex?

Well, considering that we are all here now, they obviously had some idea of what they were about!

"I see he who sits near you as an equal of the gods
For he can closely listen to your delightful voice
And that seductive laugh
That makes the heart behind my breasts to tremble.

Even when I glimpse you for a moment
My tongue is stilled as speech deserts me
While a delicate fire is beneath my skin -
My eyes cannot see, then,
When I hear only a whirling sound
As I shivering, sweat
Because all of me trembles;
I become paler than drought-grass
And nearer to death ..."

Wow! What an exciting question. Guess what, Longing to be Long, if the ancient people were bad at sex, you, dunderbrain, would not be here. Oh yes, what Historian classifies Achilles, Hercules, Caesar, Ramses and even Der Fuhrer himself, as having been bad at sex? Since no one living shared any encounters with them, who is to say how they performed, Dying to be Long?

Why dont you ask the Karma Sutra? Or visit China and see the ancient inscriptions of women and men in various positions!

As others have also pointed out, that the Ancient Romans and Greeks were not shy when it came to eroticism in the ancient bath houses - between both sexes and same sex couples. Men as famous as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar were rumoured to have not only female but also male lovers.

Yes, they were all bad at sex. Partly, because of all kinds of inhibitions and taboos. For example, if Achilles or Ramses were gay, they probably couldn't have normal gay sex and instead had to be with women. Women were also very suppressed and instead of actively participating in the sex act, they just lied there like a log. Of course, the situation was slightly better during Renaissance and the worst during the Middle Ages when the Catholic Church ruled.

Considering the turmoil and shorter average life spans, they really did not have much else to do in the way of "recreation." Many ancient cultures were centered around sexual rituals, so they knew exactly what they were doing. It was only the rise of Christianity and Islam during the Dark Ages and Medieval periods that sex was given a tabooish label; in the eyes of the early churches and mosques, sex was solely for the purpose of reproducing and was never to be enjoyed.

On the contrary- have a look at the ruins of Pompeii. They had murals and statues that depicted people in sexual positions and men with large penises. Sounds like they knew what was going on to me!

Bah! Who says they didn't know what a clitoris was? Roman debauchery was legendary in it's time.
