Hi,
I think it's always good to question why I feel a certain way, why I have formed a certain impression, why I am wanting to go a different way. Why do I come to a certain decision, are the motives good? Am I being fair to everyone? Am I being honest with myself.
Yes I think it's wise to question our own motives. In fact, to just act without thinking means we're not learning a lot about ourselves.

If we think about the consequences before we act we don't need to question our motives.

however if we do not think about the motive and possibly screw up or feel guilty, we end up questioning our motives
