this is because all down syndrome patients have the same mutation which is 3 chromosome 21's when there are only supposed to be 2. this is called trisomy 21. Therefore, they all have the same characteristics that go along with adding a 3rd 21st chromosome.

Huh?? My son has Down syndrome, and I know LOTS of kids with Down syndrome and I wouldn't say that they have the same complexion?? Like any other children, some are fair, some are ruddy, some have rosier cheeks than others. I honestly can't figure out how you came to this conclusion.

They don't. White Down Syndrome patients have a light complexion, and black Down Syndrome patients have a dark complexion.
