Do you set your own Boundaries, or NATURE does that for you as a HUMAN BEING?

Boundaries are natural. "How long can you hold your breath underwater?"
Boundaries are imposed. "You'll never amount to anything".
Boundaries are healthy. "Oh, I am so full, what is for dessert?"

Boundaries are limitless in life. It is all about our choices and the risks we choose to take.

I like to look to examples like Rosa Parks, Clara Barton, and the woman who invented the Slinky. They mustered up some courage and focused on a better future.
There are days I need to do this to get out of bed.
And as for that BIRD, the boundaries aren't even a thought, just flying is enough.

You asked if the Bird knows how high it can fly? Birds should know how high or low they can fly, by their own instincts, and the Fish also must also know how deep it can swim. Does Humans know when to set their boundaries, or does Nature does that for us? I think that we all as Humans posses in us the instinct as to when we should set our Boundaries for what ever reason or occasion.

Yes birds and fish know their boundaries. I remember when I was a kid I wanted to be a bird. They seemed so free. Then I learned that they have invisible barriers. They can't just fly everywhere. They follow certain patterns, only fly in certain areas. They have rules, limitations and live within them based on instinct.

Nature imposes certain boundaries on human beings (we can't fly or breathe under water) but we can stretch them, improvise (fly in a plane, go skydiving, scuba diving). I set my own boundaries. Maybe I'm overly cautious & should take more risks but I'm a bit of a control freak. I took a big risk buying a house & moving to a new community. That stretched my boundaries. I'm way outside my comfort zone now. There is so much further I could go. I'd love to go back to Europe one day. We set our own limits. If we really want to, we can soar as high as our dreams will carry us and delve as deep as our thoughts can go...

There are NO LIMITS to how high or how deep!

For nature they are already perfect and perfectly happy within their natural boundaries.

The fish doesn't desire to become a dog, the dog may desire to become a human. Mostly all other living creatures in nature are content in being what they are! They are perfect. It is only us humans that have a problem with being what we should be!

The same limitless being that balances the giant orbs in outer space--that controls all matter--sets the boundaries for all matter: obedient, disobedient, and those in between-functions in the fish and birds.

He even sets the boundaries for the oceans: notice how, even though the world is circular, regardless which ocean you use, by placing a spirit-level on a piece of wood, sufficiently large to float--that level will show a balance on all ocean surfaces.

I set my own boundaries to experience my own limits. I push myself so I don't become dusty on the shelf. Can I fly high? Can I swim deep? Only I will know when I take the leap.

Not consciously no, they are not aware of their boundaries but they do adhere to them out of necessity. Having evolved into and out of limitations in the interest of utility. There is no reason for a creature without consciousness to test or try the boundaries as they are not boundaries so much as safety nets.
I strive to stretch the boundaries of my existence and physical and mental potential as far as possible. However I have found I grew the most mentally, and gained the most ground physically on boundaries when I was not actively trying to push myself. And I found a template for cooperation between pushing my mind and body while I was a soldier in the Army and had to accept that there were instances in which mental/physical limitations could NOT enter my mind in a negative way without endangering my life. I've tried to carry this over into civilian life when challenged but it is not as easy when the undesirable events are not as immediately threatening as wounding or death.
I've no doubt I'll find a balance eventually to aid myself through civilian crises which will work as well as my military mindset and template.

In my opinion, flying high and swimming deep happen
naturally when we apply ourselves to proactive participation.
In my experience, I lose momentum when I think about
it too much. Essentially, it doesn't matter how high or
how deep I am. What matters is that I continue to progress
towards efficiency, and thinking about where I am usually
interrupts my progress. In my progress I will naturally
avoid most obstacles which are presented, but if I
begin to focus on searching for the boulder then I
am likely to slam into the one that is directly in front
of my nose. I am not saying that it is unwise to plan
for potential pitfalls, but I am saying that the most
appropriate course should have fewer potential
pitfalls. I am not taking the easy path, I am taking
the path which I know best. Therefore, I know my
boundaries, and nature is proficient at throwing
curve balls and I don't want to catch myself curving.

If I took just the last sentence of threeicys' answer--it would say more than all the other answers, or anything I could contribute. "And as for that BIRD, the boundaries aren't even a thought, just flying is enough." If that isn't profound, I don't know what is.

Birds sink, Fish float. Somewhere in between is Humans. The birds and the fish are our boundaries.
