or do you ever get annoyed by "cut" or shortened words like "bcz" instead of because, "u" instead of you, "4" instead of four, or "2gether", etc.?

Very annoyed. If people abbreviate to be "cool" or "hip" they are failing. It's sometimes harder to interpret and takes longer to figure out some of it. How can you take someone seriously when they write things like "kewl", "whassup", and "c u l8er"? Computers are a big part of everyday life and everybody who uses one should be able to type (with all of their fingers and thumbs, not just their index fingers). I suppose abbreviating when text messaging on a cell phone is acceptable (jeez, just call) but not when you have a keyboard in front of you and a spell checker pointing out mistakes.

Yes, it's not just you... I find it annoying too. I may be a teen, but I find it annoying when young people type things that are shorten and even to the extend that I can't understand a thing... Again, as I said, it's me, I'm not sure about anyone else.
1) When I first joined Yahoo!Answers, I have no idea what 'idk' is, until someone mentions it means 'I don't know'!
2) 'Bcos' for because...
3) 'Ppl' for people...
4) 'Y' for why, for some reason I tend to mistaken 'y' as you.

i shorten my text when im txting on my phone but that is the only time i think.is LOL that gets to me.
