To txcatwoman, read the bible more often, you'll find that in the book of Genesis that God made a covenant to Abraham to circumcise all of his children. It was a way of becoming more "pure"
I know there may be some medical necessity, as it was in my case, to have the surgery done.
No, during surgery you are completely knocked out to where nothing bothers you during the surgery. One minute you'll be in the anestisa room, the next, back in your own room like nothing ever happened. If they give you an injection to numb your unit, you may not even feel it (as it was in my case) fpr several hours.
Just be aware, you may not be able to leave the hospital until they are sure you can pass urine; however, this is not too hard to do.
After the surgery, I got along real well. I had no extra pain except the first night... all the erections that I sported that night did not make the incision site feel so hot; however, there were no real large pains.
The only other major problem I had out of it was that about a week later, I had a bleeder on one of the stiches as they were coming out, but this was nothing serious.
About the stiches, you'll get the ones that should disolve as they heal, so there is no need to have a doctor pull those back out. Most of mine pulled out themselves in the banadging; however, they did not hurt (despite how hurtful that sounds) as long as I did that slowly.
NOTE: People talk about the preservation of this skin using a steroid cream, since I am diabetic, I could not use the steroid cream, so without that, the stretching exercises DID NOT work... I tried this for TWO Years... if it is a necessity, get it done... if you can save it, save it...
I hope this helps you

Why are you getting this done? The actual surgery will be under anesthetic but afterwards there will be discomfort.
Adult males lose 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin in circumcision, over half the skin of your penis. You lose the gliding action as it slides on itself during masturbation and sex. You will suffer bruising, perhaps some bleeding, and the swelling from the disruption to the lymph system goes on for up to six months. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. You must abstain from ALL sexual activity for an average of six weeks. Some men like the final result but others complain of loss of sensation and miss being able to slide their foreskin over the glans. Circumcised guys often have little or no movable skin left and are forced to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry, without the loose skin. There is no going back if you don’t like the result.
A few intact males have problems with tight foreskin but this is only a tiny proportion of intact males. The condition can now be almost always treated with simple stretching exercises, sometimes in combination with a steroid cream that speeds up the process. However doctors who do not value the preservation of the foreskin often still trot out circumcision as a first-option treatment in the US and even some other countries.
Many women who get to interact sexually with an intact penis prefer the natural state. Don’t do this to yourself. Be proud of your whole and natural body.

It will hurt because putting someone under for surgery is a risky thing and doctors use that as a last resort. For something like that they will use Novocaine or something which is a needle. And someone sticking a needle into your dick would hurt. i understand if your scared. Heck if i were you i wouldn't even be getting the surgery because there is no point to getting circumcised. If your a minor and your parents are making you then run away for a day. Bring plenty of food.

It can, although for those who aren't newborns, you're usually put asleep, so it's painless. The pain kicks in afterwards, though. Especially with erections and urination. That can last about two weeks. You will probably have to use painkillers.
Why are you getting circumcised? Is it for a tight foreskin? If so, you should know that there are creams out there and stretching exercises that work almost all the time. I'll post them here.

Some may say that circumcision will fix it, but circumcision's risks include reduction in sensitivity and pleasure, and making masturbation more difficult according to studies (including a few new ones from a few months ago). Oddly enough that's how it was promoted in the USA since masturbation was bad, haha. There's a reason why the USA is the last remaining advanced nation still doing it, and even so, it's getting a lot less popular (it's now as low as 14% in some states). Save that as a last resort, as you're doing. That's only one of the few risks, there's more listed here, in addition to the studies and statistics:

I was the same when I was younger, and now it slides fine with no problems whatsoever. Just pull back your foreskin when you shower the most you can without forcing it, and rub the head. That should encourage it to separate from the head. This is probably all you have to do, since this is common especially with teens. You just haven't 'used' it enough, as in masturbation and washing it. The same goes for sensitivity; the more your rub it the less sensitive it'll get (start using water when you shower then rub a little more each day).
And if its rather tight, you can get a cream that works in almost 95% of cases. It's 0.05% betamethasone or betamethasone dipropionate. And unlike circumcision it is very cheap ($12 in the USA), painless, and you don't risk decreasing sensitivity/pleasure and making masturbation more difficult.

Try that cream. It works. Doctors often just mention circumcision since its a surgery that brings a lot of money to them, especially in the USA.

The USA is the last advanced nation doing it (Europeans, Japanese, Chinese, Latin Americans don't do it), but rates have fallen down from over 90% in the 1960s to as low as 21% here in California currently. From CNN:

I have two friends who have gone under it; one was for medical reasons and he liked it. The other he did for 'looks' and he regrets it a lot. So just make sure you know what you want. You can weigh the reasons why you want to be cut with that and decide for yourself. Best of luck. =)

Hell yeah... It's gonna hurt for weeks. You won't be able to have sex or jack off for months. And then, once you hit middle age, you'll want to have foreskin restoration done.
Don't do it, man. It's not worth it.

You are getting skin, full of blood vessels and nerves, surgically forced off one of the most sensitive parts of your body against its will, I would hasten to why you would mutilate your body as you have lived it it up to this point, you reliase that your going to have the top of your penis exposed, the most senstive part of your body will became like skin,A babys precious foreskin till the age of 3 years old is unable to roll back to exposed the head of the penis, the skin is attached to the penis like your fingernail is attached to your finger, you imagine that being ripped off, it is the same thing, this is something they did in Nazi Germany ripping of fingernails of Jews, how could you let someone steal something so precious, that others who have theres removed against their will are wanting back and suing for, 90% of the world is not circumcised, please stay in that percentage, make a stance make a change

In response to Rachel, Ive had both types of guys and I prefer uncircumcized since its just easier to use the skin to rub the head with by sliding it, that and you dont need lubes. so dont think all girls prefer cut. but in the end if a girl makes it an issue either way, its not worth your time to be with her

I can't figure out why they do that , plus it keeps the penis from extending to it's natural length. If God intended for men to be circumcised, he would not made men the way he did

NO, but the numbing shot is a real experience. Have them give you plenty of Valium and bite down hard on the wood stick they put in your mouth!
