When I was a child, I most wanted to be grown up and free to decide things for myself. And sure, I achieved that. But as a kid I never counted on the constraining effect of responsibilities, which make it so that even grown-ups feel like somebody or something else is deciding what they have to do a lot of the time.

I had always wanted to work in a non-profit organization helping the poor and homeless that sort of thing. I still dream on but have not had the opportunity, rather difficult as I have 4 kids and the father does not give me any support so it is on the shelf for now. I believe it will happen in GOD's time it will or will not such as it is GOD's will for me. I try however to seek out lonely, depressed, and other underprivileged and see how I may help them out. I would love to visit the elderly in nursing or senior housing that have no one to sit and visit with.

I wanted to be 21 and I wanted to be an Architect.
I acheived being 21 and passed it by 2 years.
But I never became an Architect because math is too hard for me so I am going to pursue something else. I don't know what yet but something.

OMG, I am 18 years old, and I am interested in everything. First, when I was in first grade I wanted to be a cashier and a police. Then as I got older I wanted to be in the ARMY then NAVY then AIR FORCE. Then I wanted to be nurse, then I want to do hair, be a CNA I also want to be a secretary, I want to be a Radio Host (I am working for an internet radio station), also I want to be a police, again. JaJaJa isn't this funny. Maybe a doctor will be cool.

A hero. Once I reached double digits I realized that was way too lofty for me and settled on being a railroader like my father. That didn't work out either so I just cast my fate to the wind. I don't have any special gifts (music, sports, intelligence) and little ambition. Que sera sera.

I had One Goal that was so precious to me that I turned down all the other interesting profitable things that came my way over the years because I wanted to do That One Thing First. I didn't care who laughed. I didn't mind being poor because I was so focused. Well, now my friends are traveling and doing early retirement and my life not only never began but I don't even have the energy to do my dream even if it was handed to me. Just one person's perspective...

I never had a Thing I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up thing.
When I was in class, I would think about becoming a teacher, but then I'd think about becoming a whatever was in front of me.
Just thought I'd add that perspective.
I guess that means I COULDN'T fail!

i seriously badly wanted to be a doctor... my results were good but due to financial reasons, i was not able to make it... i guess i found an alternative... so, i'm doing my msc right now.. working my way to a phd... and then i will get a doctor title... although it is not the actual one but good enough for me... that is, to nurture young minds... also, i realized that i enjoyed lecturing a lot... wish me luck!
