When i lay down to finally relax at the end of the day and sometimes when i'm driving, i sometimes feel a "pop" and then the area around where i felt it goes really hard. Sometimes i will feel it on my lower left side, and then 30 mins later it is up high (under my belly button). The area doesnt always tighten up, but lately it has. i felt the same sensations at 14 weeks without tightening). This is my 1st pregnancy, and i am now 17 weeks.
I'm sure it is,.......Is this my baby???
And why does the area go all tight and hard?

Yes that sounds like your baby moving, little pops or tapping is how I would describe those first movements. The area goes hard as this is your baby pressing up against the uterus. The baby has lots of room at this stage to move around which is why one minute you can feel it low down and the next really high! The reason you didn't feel the hardening at 14 weeks is because the baby was too little - I too felt my first flutterings at 14 weeks. It's a wonderful feeling - enjoy!

It could definitely be the baby moving. As far as the tightening goes that is possibly early braxton hicks. Which can start as early as 6 weeks but typically are not felt until you are well into the second trimester. It could also just be gas. You will start to feel true kicks from your baby mid to late second trimester

The area goes "hard and tight" because your muscles are having to deal with the unusual movement underneath them. Yes, this is your baby moving, the "pop" might be a tiny kick or punch, but it is definitely the baby moving.

Congratulations and have fun when your little one arrives!

he is growing, so it's getting tight, in the couple weeks it's gonna get more interesting, he's gonna kick a lot.........it's so cool. U gonna feel in the beginning like a pulsing feelings, then it's gonna get much harder and harder, but it doesn't hurt.
I'm 36 weeks pregnant and he is kicking a lot, specially when I'm relaxing, 30 minutes after i eat something, when i walk he usually come, i think because he is rocking inside.
So good luck to u with everything and big congrats!!!!

The tightening sounds like it could be braxton hicks contractions.I would mention it to your Dr just to let him/her know, with you being only 17 weeks.I may be wrong but never have heard of those starting that early
