The over the counter rememdies work very well. I would suggest going with the seven day treatment first. It's messy and kind of a pain in the butt, but you should feel relief a day or two into the treatment. I've tried the 1day and 3 day options without any luck.
Good luck. And if the Monistat doesn't work - FOR SURE go back to your doctor as it could be a sign that something else is going on.

I know I am but a man, Crista, but I do have an answer for you. Any product like Monistat can be helpful in the treatment of yeast infections. Your wording that you might have "another" yeast infection tells me that you have had one before, in which case a product like Monistat or other treatment for yeast infection is not only safe to use over the counter, but is actually recommended. The only time the product(s) are not recommended is when you have a first yeast infection, in which case a diagnosis from your doctor is warranted. Good luck and I hope you feel better, Crista.

I wouldn't recommend it because if you have a different kind of infection (meaning like bacterial vaginosis which can have some symptoms similar to yeast) the Monistat and such will not help it.
I know you are not comfortable with the idea of going back to your gynecologist but I would recommend doing that to have them evaluate the situation to see if you might actually be dealing with bacterial vaginosis instead.

sure its ok, yes monistat works very well just use as directed on the package. also if you have just finished taking antibiotics for any type of infection, vaginal, sinus, upper respiratory, etc...
its very common to get a yeast infection. antibiotics take all the good bacteria out of the stomach, actually its kills all the good bacteria. so during the course of antibiotics eat yogurt daily to replace the good bacteria and that will also help to prevent a yeast infection. hope this helped you.
