Do you find yourself secretly rooting for the "Bad Guy"?

Does the smarminess or self satisfaction of the Hero get under your skin?

Or the crossdressing?

What cartoon character really gets your goat?

I'm older, so I have to say I love the Bugs, but would admit readily he doesn't stand up to Stan Kyle and Eric...Or Homer's clan.

I think superman was a mistake, making a character all-powerful, yet always having him in mortal danger seems lazy to me.

And don't get me started on Aqua Man.

I have to agree with you, I think that part of the fun of BB and his ilk is that we ourselves are not the ones being humiliated by this insufferable smartmouth.

When I was little, it took me a long time to understand that the toons wouldn't really get permanently hurt, and I thought that guys like Bugs were taking awful chances that they might hurt someone. The things he did to Elmer weren't very nice, and I dont think that Bugs is a good role model for anybody.)

The cross dressing is just part of the package, the whole behavioral thing, that makes it evident that he is 'bugs' ...i.e., insane. Now that this sort of behavior has begun to become more accepted, we forget that people like that have something wrong in their understanding of their role in society or their feelings for other people, and Bugs is sometimes seen as if he was meant to be a spokestoon for those who want society to conform to them (instead of the other way around.)

But that is not what he was intended to be...! The whole crossdressing bit was originally meant to emphasize that he wasn't to be taken as normal or reasonable.

I never rooted against Bugs Bunny, because Looney Tunes never had lasting reprocutions from their actions. How many times did Wile E. Coyote get obliterated, and yet there he was again, chasing the Road Runner.

I always pulled against He-Man, the Thundercats, GI Joe, and Voltron. Just once, I wanted to see the bad guys win.

Believe it or not, Bugs is one of my heroes. The cartoon in which the giant tries to stop Bugs from "mining" the giant carrots was and is very powerful to me. Bugs says, "I'll be scared later; right now I'm too mad", then he goes about defeating the giant in typical Bugs Bunny fashion despite his fear of the giant. He had a goal to accomplish and he didn't let fear stop him.

I love Bunnies! But I hate superheros! They should let us death gods do the REAL work instead of saving the bank or something like that. That stuff is all for the police to take care of.
