I have paid £40 to have my car towed to a garage, is it their responsibility to make sure the car is safe from thieves as i have many valuables in the car and am worried that they may not of locked it or set the alarm, i can't ring and check as its closed on a sunday?

I would see if you can recover the items if you can their are to many people that will have access to your car while it's in the garage and if anything should go missing you would have an enormous problem proving it was in the car when it was towed to the garage.......

I would think they' would have some sort of insurance for a car on their property however as for the contents of the car, probably not. What are you leaving valuables in your car for anyway? You're a thief's dream!

The garage would have a' reasonable duty of care' to look after your vehicle, despite any small print on their reciepts, you did get one didn't you?.

Of course - but to be honest, I would have got everything out of it first before recovery. Hope it's ok - if they are a reputable garage, it will be just fine.

Shops have no liability for theft or damage of your vehicle.
