Why haven't Sky or the BBC bid to run and show them

Presumably you are talking about the London Olympics?!? It's a bit early yet, but I'd be surprised if the government allowed Sky to outbid other broadcasters. A pound to a penny, BBC will show the bulk of it.

You don't run The Olympic Games you host them and as I'm sure you know the ones for the year 2012 are in London.The BBC always show them so I don't imagine that year will be any different.Sky may show them as well.

BBC & ITV will both show it, it's a protected event.
