I'm an Indian; I went to US on B1 visa last year. I told the immigration officer I was going to stay till the end of March. He must have heard it as 8th of March for he entered so in the I-94. Being the dumbest person on earth, I did not check the date he entered for correctness, and did not once open the passport till it was time for me to leave. By the time I realized the mistake I had already overstayed for 20 days.
My visa has gone void due to the overstay. Will I get a visa again?

It will be hard for you to get another one, however there is something you can do to help your case. Immediately make an appointment to visit the nearest state department, tell them what happened and that you will leave right away. It would help if you already have a plane ticket back home in hand too. You need a good reason why you overstayed other than you didn't know as that one is horrible. Prove that you always meant to stay this long and it was just an oversight on both parts for a wrong date.

Under the current atmosphere, it's unlikely that you will ever get another visa, however if you explain things and leave voluntary it will change things into your favor.

Your visa will be automatically void and you will need a new one.
