They started testing two or three seasons ago and Bonds has never tested positive for steroids, only amphetamines, which are not a performance enhancer, but are used as a pick-me-up to fight fatigue. To Georgie Porgie, you don't know what you're talking about because steroid testing is done from urine samples, not blood samples, and players do not know in advance when they are going to be tested. The sample is also taken in front of a witness. People need to remember that during the time Bonds, McGwire and Sosa are accused of using steroids, they weren't banned by Major League Baseball. With or without performance-enhancing drugs, Barry Bonds is one of the greatest hitters ever. Deal with it.

NO Bonds has NEVER tested positive for steriods. He's said that "he's rubbed cream, that his trainer gave him; that supposedly contained steriods but he didn't know it." They started testing in the 80's BUT it was a very rare test. They had more problems like Cocaine back in those days. They didn't start really testing to these last 7 or so years. Now they test all the friggin time.

Herb: Not taking up for Bonds but, alot of players get real big as they get older. Look at Michael Jordan, he was a lean thin guy; then at 40 he's ripped and real bulky. You get bulk with age, I think Bonds maybe/probably did something but it isn't "unnatural" to get that big over time. Even if bonds did do something you can't get those numbers just by Roids.

MLB started testing to some degree about 4 years ago, and really started testing 2 years ago even thou it has been banned for many years. It is unsure whether or not he has ever failed a test. He went on the DL most of last year, when they started doing random drug test. He all but admitted he took roids, about 2 years ago, but said "he didn't know that his trainer had done it and not told him" The trainer/drug dealer in question has been locked up 4 times, for not talking about it, even thou he had a plea, and nothing more would happen to him, he has turned in other people, so for some reason he won't turn on bonds. At least 3 players/former players have said bonds said during the Big Mac/ Sammy Sosa chase that he was gonna go on roids. That means he started doing it around '99. he is 42 or 43.

MLB really put their foot down and started testing very recently, with the 3 strike rule and such.
Bonds has "unknowingly" taken steroids. the kind that's rubbed on the skin, i believe.

the reason barry bonds has never been tested positive is because he always gives someone else's blood--not his own.

bonds should have proved postive, if u look at his picture from when he first started out in MLB, he was a skinny mofo who could steal bases eaisly, now all he can do is hit and dress like a chik before practice... same with mark maguire or however you spell that, just that he wasnt a base stealer
