It depends on how attached you ARE to this cat. If you really love this cat - and a responsible pet owner would - then you need to reconsider your responsibilities to him. Are you providing him with proper supervision? Do you ground him for breaking the rules? Have you ever sat down with him and had a talk about what the rules are and why you have them?
Finally - and this will be the hard part - if your furry friend HAS actually commited crimes, you need to encourage him to turn himself in. If you don't and he is caught at your house, you will be charged with concealing a fugitive.

Sounds like it might be time for a rehab session. Maybe you should get together with some of his friends and consider an intervention. It's just so sad to see the cat you know and love throw his life away.

Trust me,I fell your pain! Just last week Mr.Whiskerton my blue Persian got arrested for distributing Kitty Porn! I had NO idea this was going on in My house! Turns out the dog was running the camera and was arrested as an accessory. Now its just me and my poor legless parrot at home........
