Why do you assume that they are "Rednecks"????

If you dismiss history, and forget about it, then it has a tendency to come back again and kick you in the butt.

It's part of the heritage of this nation. It's part of why we are here, and who we are. The re-enactments include soldiers from both sides. Are the people playing the Union Soldiers also "Rednecks?"

Do you have the same response to American Revolutionary War re-enactments in the Northeast? Were the Red Coats a bunch of "Rednecks?" After all, they lost.

It helps people visualize what it was like to fight in those wars. It's not about politics. History fascinates many people.

I think you just have a problem with people from the South, and that might make you a bigot. You should go down there and have a visit.

Their were true warriors on both sides of that tragic division of our country. As a person of Irish and Native American Heritage, I am glad those Alabama Irish kin took kindly to a few Native Americans who had escaped the push westward and married into the Irish kith and kin of mine. The North was actually more in control of the orders handed down to keep pushing my people west. Back in the thick pines there are still the ruins of old dog-run tin roofed cabins where the ones of questionable blood survived. They fit in so well, and were very intelligent. They managed to see it through the depression better of than most, because they were survivors.

And you assume you know what a redneck is, and are real sure it is only rednecks. Wow!! you really need to read the book called " civil war history for dummies". Are maybe you are just jealous that the South Did Rise Again.

If you mow your lawn and find a car, your a red neck.
If you use your belt buckle as a form of identification, your a red neck.
If you have to climb a water tower with a can of spray paint to defend your sisters honor you can rest assured your a red neck.
If you go to family reunions to pick up on chicks, your a red neck.
And the granddaddy of them all.......
If your family tree doesn't have any branches, your a red neck!

Al Gore is a redneck and he does constantly try to re-enact the 2000 election.

The Democrats were the rednecks who lost the civil war.And right after that they started the KKK.

My advice to you is drop out of public school before you are rendered completely retarded.

But you do see Normandy landing reenactments, and Waterloo, and numerous others. Could it be that those so-called "Rednecks" have more understanding and appreciation for history than a biggot like you?

History buffs do that thing I guess, unless its someone honoring their warrior anscestors exploits, its sort of silly in my view , but then there are worse things they can do, as both sides didn't take kindly to my people!
