its in their dna.
once, they did an experiment with Foxes. the ones that didn't growl or bite at a human would be taken and put in a group. They would mate and have fox babies. Then they did the same things. The nice foxes got to bread again. within only 2 generations all their fur (seperated by groups, so its not all mixed dna) started changing color. and strangely, they started to resemble dogs. floopy ears, and longer legs, less bushy tail.
they concluded that the DNA caused stress in their behaviors which in turn effected their bodies growth.
kinda strange. DNA and your emotions control how your body grows.
but another point was that the dogs/foxes/wolves/whatever that didn't become friendly with people had less of a chance of eating. So, those who didn't have such stress levels bread under the campfires of humans and developed into the dogs we know today, Loyal to the end, cause its been ingrained into their DNA.
The End
I'll try to find the show, but I'm not sure if I can.

Dogs are the descendants of wolves. Canines are all animals who are very social and live in packs. Domestic dogs live with their humans, whom they consider as their pack. Protecting and being loyal to those in the pack also serves their best interest, because without the pack, a lone wolf (dog) has a hard life.

yes I have also seen the article about inbreeding in foxes.
After about six generations they were as friendly as dogs.
In wild wolf populations about 12 to 15 thousand years ago, some individuals starting hanging around human settlements and eating food that people had killed after the humans cleaned it.
So the wolves that were less fearfull or people started breeding with each other and became a separate population distinct from the wolves that lived in the wild and kept away from people.
This probably took hundreds or maybe thousands of years for the wolves to completely adapt to living around people.
Finally people took the pups and brought them in to their villages and by this time they had evolved from wolves to dogs.

A dog will protect you till death..once I was 7 years & I fell down from a first stored balcony, my dog who was roaming with my uncle..caught hold of me by my collar & pulled me to my uncle..I was then checked. Just my arm was broken & nothing else...
Now, I have 18 dogs, so I think that they will protect me till death..
