iI am a refrigeration tech.and i would like to know how one could convert a chestfreezer into a chestcooler ?

change the thermostat from a 25 to -10 degress to a 55 to 45 degree thermostat...thats about all you have to do ....the original thermostat is for a deep freeze so it will never work as a cooler thermostat, thats why you would have to change it to a higher temperature thermostat..a thermostat for a soda cooler or soda machine would work very well..

i agree with what wwstat said..i know a thing or two about refrigerators,ac and freezers cause we sell them..so definitely its the thermostat that needs to be changed.. so the type thermostat that you need to replace it with will depend on how cool you want your chiller as long as the setting doesnt reach 0 to negatve then you wont have a problem of freezing.

Basically that's what you have. Just run it warmer, a refreg. tech should know this.
