Study hard now. This is the age when you should concentrate on your studies and nothing else.

There is no reason why you can't.
People get paid for the strangest things, I assure you. And there is nothing wrong with wanting to earn money at any stage of your life. It's not as if people can't handle working and studying at the same time. People do it all the time, even after they've graduate and are doing courses.

I don't know which country you come from but in a lot of Asian countries, people are allowed to work part-time/full-time from the age of 15, 16 or 17. And in other countries, the legal age is 17, not 18. Which in that point case, you just have to wait a year. Provided of course, you're living in that country.

That aside, there are always competitions, etc. that allow you to enter, win and earn money. Say, an essay competition or a poetry competition.

If those aren't your thing, again, I'm guessing baby-sitting. But unless you're in the Western countries, those jobs are really difficult to come by. I'd suggest you check local notice boards for baby-sitting jobs. Or contact an agency.

Now if you're in a S.E.Asian country (e.g. Singapore) you can't really do these things. But you can be a tutor. You can offer tuitions to kids younger than you, get paid for it and study at the same time. You can contact a tutor agency. But at your age, they would usually only hire you if you're truly spectacular at something (language, math, etc.) and you have to be patient. That's a definite virtue you need since you'll be teaching kids.

That being said, good luck. And do tell me if you managed to get any jobs.

Try to sell stuff laying around that you do not need anymore on eBay. Plus you learn how to deal with customers.

Another thing since this is the investing forum is to open up a discount-brokerage account under a parents name and invest your own money in. It's never too early to start.

First off their is a spell check on this thing. Ask you're parents if you could get a baby sitters job. But make sure your grades don't slip. Give them an ultimatum. Say you'll get good grades or maintain good grades, and do a little work around the house if you can have a job. Explain you want to save for you're future.

You are a minor and so in India you cannot go out and earn as a minor. You should be 18 to work professionally/legally.

That is the reason your parents are objecting.
