1. Increased risk of falling. Your center of gravity changes with pregnancy, and a bad fall risks injuring your baby. High heels are not designed to be worn by someone with so much extra weight in the front.
2. Circulation is not as good during pregnancy. High heels are never great for your circulation, and during pregnancy, circulation decreases. Heels just make this worse.
3. Swelling, during the last few months of pregnancy, most women experience some swelling. High heel shoes are not going to fit properly with this swelling which can lead to circulation being cut off.

Some women have a ahrd enough time balancing in heels already, then you add the imbalance a baby belly puts on - they'd fall off.
Actually, it also affects the back. High heels aren't actually recommended for anyone - they do more harm than good to the back.

It's mainly because women become clumsy while pregnant, due to hormones that loosen your ligaments. It's a lot easier to fall while wearing high heels than it is flats. Also, if your feet start to swell, high heels won't be very comfortable.

I didn't give up my heels for several months. Then I started to notice my balance wasn't so "perfect" once the weight shifted to my front. I had several "falls" and close calls and decided safety was more important than vanity or fashion. Now I like comfortable shoes....try them, you may find low shoes are the way to go!

Main reason is for balance reasons. Your body changes too quickly to really adjust fully. I'm still wearing heels though, I was told it was fine until I start to feel any balance problems.

because your growing stomach throws of your center of gravity and its really easy to lose your balance. now try wearing heels on top of that. it could be pretty dangerous but if you have no problem balancing then keep on wearing your heels. (until your feet swell up too big to fit into them)

The bigger the belly, the more pressure on the lower back. Why put more pain on her back with high heels? Plus, she can fall forward losing her balance.

My doctor told me that it is best to wear a 1 inch heal .. make it a thick heal though. This centers your gravity because it changes during pregnancy. It would help your back cause you wont be leaning as much.

because there is the chance that you might fall, lose your balance, twist ankle or worse things....better for your pregnant body to be in flats.
