How do you get Peggy out of Margaret, or Dotty out of Dorothy, or Dick out of Richard, or Bill out of William, or Ted out of Theodore, or Chuck out of Charles, or Shelley out of Michelle, or Bob out of Robert, or Tony out of Anthony, or Ted out of Edward? They're nicknames, that's all. No deep dark secret here.
