Here's the deal. Most people making money with these online home-based businesses are because they're signing up people who don't know better. Be very careful of the responses you get for this post. If you really want to start a business (takes a lot of motivation), go visit the local Small Business Development Center and discuss it with them (for free). You can find the office nearest you at ...

Virtual Assistance is a great field. As with any business you need to promote and market your business. But for me it is easier than most home based business toget started and the least expensive as well.

If you do not know what a VA is:
A virtual assistant (or VA), is an independent contractor providing administrative, technical, or sometimes creative assistance to clients, usually to other independent entrepreneurs and solo and small business practices, such as that of a lawyer or realtor. Virtual assistants work from their own office (hence "virtual"), thus making it a fairly popular (and growing) profession. It is estimated that there are about 5–8,000 virtual assistants worldwide.

Common modes of communication and data delivery include the Internet, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and fax machine. Although the occupation gives a degree of independence, work is on a contractual basis, and a long-lasting cooperation is standard. Typically 5 years of administrative experience in an office is expected at such positions as executive assistant, secretary, legal assistant, paralegal, legal secretary, real estate assistant, or office manager.

I have been involved in quite a few online businesses, but My Power Mall is the one I would recommend. There are no costs involved in running the business, so there is absolutely nothing to lose. I have tried many home-based businesses that seemed great but turned out to be a waste of my time. Not this one. I am making money and it is so easy to set-up. I cant lose anything because it cost me nothing to start, how good is that? Please take a look at the company's website, I have posted the link below.

More info at: http://www.mypowermall.com/Biz/Home/7658

I work from home as a Benefits Specialist. I looked for work at home for 3 years before finding this company, and I believe its one of the best ones out there. They currently have about 70,000 people working from home. They also have almost 2 million members on their benefits plan. They allow people to work from home full or part time. They offer 401(k) and direct deposit. Plus you get the benefits for your whole household. http://www.freedomathometeam.com/JBurke

Ebay has worked for most people.

Start by selling something you don't need at home.

Then learn the ins and outs of marketing on ebay.
