The last poster seems to think I am incorrect. However I was 18 years old and do not recall one guy as the everyday CF. Anyways, please let me know. Because this nuthead seems to think Darren Lewis played 135 games in CF, when his own reference site states he only played 88 in CF, the others in RF and a couple of DH starts. Somebody else (Damon Buford) had to play the other games, correct?

I even still have the flippin video game MLB 2001 which uses the 1999 rosters which I still play. But hey, maybe I am wrong but I distinctly do not remember one guy manning CF.

You are correct!

Darren Lewis played a total of 135 games for the Red Sox in 1999 and played 88 of them in CF, Damon Buford played 82 games in center, and Michael Coleman played 1 game in CF. Obviously all of this adds up to more than 162 games, but these statistics are for all or part of games played at that position.

1999 Boston Red Sox center fielders

Darren Lewis -- 88 games (total 135 games)
Damon Buford -- 82 games (91)
Donnie Sadler -- 6 games (49)
Michael Coleman -- 1 game (2)

Coleman's one game in CF was a start in the last week of the season.
