Yes it is possible especially for overwieght women because the hormons that are released into our bodies to make us have a period are also stored if fat cells. If you hold enough in your cells it can still make you have a period even if you are not still producing it. NO missed period most other symptoms could have other explinations.

Larger women have mutiple problems. One being their period is VERY Irregular. Not the case with all though. Some may go years without a period, so 9 months really isnt extreme. They also could have Gas and uncomfort a lot so the baby kicking could be attributed to that. They are too large to really notice an 10 or 20 lb weight gain. I am talking at 400 lbs! I don't think it's outragious! I think well good for her! She's 400 lbs and still has a sex life!

Some women don't miss their periods when pregnant, and some women have such irregular periods that an absence of one might not mean much to them. This may be way wrong of me to assume, but if the woman is 400 pounds, perhaps her period is super irregular. I know incredibly thin women often have irregular/no periods. Plus, if she's majorly overweight, she may experience a lot of the symptoms of pregnancy anyway. Not all women get morning sickness, and some women experience breast tenderness and water retention during their time of the month. Rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, fatigue- all could be attributed to an unhealthy lifestyle, but all could also be symptoms of pregnancy. I know a woman who thought she just had a really really bad cold/flu for the first trimester of her pregnancy. Gaining 15-20 pounds when you're already 400 pounds doesn't seem like much. So, I could see it happening.

Well with having the excess weight, her abdomen may not have gotten any larger. The fetal movement can be mistaken for gas or stomach pains. This can happen alot, even in think women. Some women have irregular or no periods at all and still may ovulate. Some women may have bleeding through the entire pregnancy. Not all women have morning sickness or any physical complications. It's great that the baby is healthy, even with the mom not knowing she was pregnant...

A lot of women who are morbidly obese stop having periods because their hormones are all messed because of their weight. And so they probably dismiss the movement to other things just like regular sized women usually mistake the babies movement for. I dont know in my opion its more of like how can you not know? Even before I took a test I just knew with both my pregnancies I was pregnant. And morning sickness doesnt happen to everyone. Basically every pregnancy is different. And because she was very overweight couldve helped the fact that she was in denial.

I think outrageous is a bit strong. What outrages you. There have been a few cases where women, whether large or average in weight have had this happen. Lots of women miss periods as a regular thing so this is not really a good indicator. There are exceptions to every norm, you are just picking on her because she happens to be overweight. Get over it.

my freind who is pretty darn skinny didnt know she was pregnant til she was 5 half months along. She thought she might have been 2 months when she found out. But when they went to do the ultrasound sure enough!! My mom was only 98 pounds when she popped up 7 months pregnant...lol she didnt know convinced everyone she had cancer and went to the doctor...and she only had two months left til her pregnacy both girls i know had periods every month thats why they didnt know. Also if the woman was that large she probably didnt have regular periods to begin with because being so obese.

A lot of morbidly obese women don't get their periods regularly, some don't get them at all. Plus, not everyone gets morning sickness, and a lot of pregnancy symptoms, if short lived, could be written off as a simple cold. Crazy stuff like that happens all the time.

She most likely did notice and when she asked the Dr he blame her weight for the trouble and it wasn't until she began having prelabor that the Dr even considered she may be pregnant. Obesity is a topic Dr's love to punish and berate patients on sometimes to the point of missing a real issue - in this case pregnancy. The sad truth is she has a real medical problem and her Dr is not doing a thing to help her get better. Maybe now she will realize that she needs a better Dr.
