I am going to be visiting Montreal for 1 day next week, because of the vicinity it is to where I will be staying in New York, and I want to purchase a Leafs jersey, I learned recently that Montreal has its own hockey team called the Canadians and that it will be a bit of a problem to find a Leaf jersey, I need to find a shop that sells them in various sizes from small to at least 6XLT, various people whom I know would also like one. I am not a fan of hockey and I wanted something that I could say I bought in Canada and people would recognise when I returned home. It's a weird thing but it's what I do when I travel. yeah i'm sure you can find it any of the major sports stores...but i sure dont think those montreal ppl are going to be happy with you waving around a Leafs jersey lol

The correct spelling is "les Canadiens" (the French spelling of the Canadians). I saw a Leafs jersey in a souvenir shop in Old Montreal once (French maps will show Old Montreal as "le Vieux Port" or "Vieux Montreal"). I think it was on Rue Notre-Dame.)
As someone else mentioned, why not buy a Habs jersey (local nickname for les Canadiens)? People will recognize it anywhere, it's more colourful, and the Habs have won more championships. (Only the New York Yankees have won more pro team sport championships - one more than the Habs.)

That's what I was thinking actually.
Go to any major sports store in Montreal and you should be able to find quite a few Maple Leaf shirts and in various sizes too, hopefully!

Ya the Canadiens are just as old as the Leafs (with almost double the cups). You can get one at any big sports store. If you're in Montreal anyway why not get Canadians?
